There are many that say they know God today and they state that they are Christians. Well, what is it that makes a Christian anyway? How does one get to know God? What must he do to have eternal life with God?
The Bible says that all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God. (Romans 3:23) What does that mean? Ever since Adam and Eve took a bite of the fruit that God had forbidden them to eat, (Genesis 3:3) we have all inherited sin. There is no one since that time that is not a sinner. Since God is perfect and no one can have a relationship with him that is with sin, (Romans 6:23) then how do we get to have eternal life with God? Well, my friend, because God loves us so much, He provided a way for us to come to Him without sin.
(John 3:16)
That way is Jesus Christ. God sent His only begotten Son to die for our sins on the cross.
(1 Peter 3:18) Jesus shed His precious blood to cover our sins and to take them away. Jesus, after three days rose from the dead (Romans 3:25) and conquered sin forever for anyone who would believe and have faith in Him.
You might say to yourself, I’have heard something about that before, and I do believe that Jesus existed. So I guess that I am saved, right? (James 2:10) I do good deeds and I try to help others out all the time. I even volunteer at the Salvation Army once in awhile. I give to the needy during the holidays. Isn’t that enough for God? (Ephesians 2:9, Isaiah 64:6)
No, my friend, it’s NOT what you do that will get you into heaven to be with God forever. It’s what He did for you on the cross. It is an individual acceptance from you. What do I mean individual acceptance? I mean that everyone small or great, rich or poor, must accept the pardon that Jesus paid on the cross for their sins. It is your decision to accept what Jesus did for you when he died on the cross. PERIOD!
It means that all you have to do is to ask Jesus to forgive you, repent of your sins (Acts 3:19) and believe that Jesus died for you! You must believe that Jesus rose from the dead
(Romans4:25) and is alive today. God has made it so simple for anyone who will just believe and have faith, to be saved and have eternal life with Him. So my friend, if you would like to know Jesus as your personal Savior, just pray this sinners prayer yourself.

Dear Heavenly Father, I believe that Jesus is Your only Begotton Son, and that He died on the cross and was raised from the dead. (Romans 10:9-10) I know I have sinned and need forgiveness. I am willing to turn from my sins and receive Jesus an my Savior and Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus name, Amen.
If you have prayed this prayer and believe it with all your heart, you are now saved. Jesus in now in your heart and life and will be so forever. You need not worry about going to hell, for Jesus, our Lord and Savior has indeed saved YOU! Now you need to find yourself a Bible teaching church and start attending.
